Why did "Tu Meri Main Tera" fail at the Box Office?
- The "Dhurandhar" Wave: Ranveer Singh's spy thriller Dhurandhar is currently in its 5th week and is still outperforming Kartik Aaryan’s new release by 15x. Most screens have been handed back to the spy-actioner.
- Weak Content: Critics and audiences have labeled the script "dated" and "regressive," with many comparing it unfavorably to DDLJ and TJMM. The chemistry between Kartik and Ananya failed to ignite the "90s magic" the makers promised.
- High Costs: With a massive production budget and heavy marketing, a ₹31 Cr net after 10 days is a catastrophe for Dharma Productions.
- Kartik Aaryan’s Slump: After the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, this marks a significant career setback for Kartik, proving that rom-coms require much stronger scripts in the current "action-heavy" climate.
